Three months after the Samsung Galaxy S8 first shipped, Samsung has announced today that Bixby Voice, the voice-based feature of its virtual assistant — Bixby, will be available for Galaxy S8 and S8+ owners in the United States. While Bixby has been available on the Galaxy S8 since launch, its much-hyped voice functionality was missing. Samsung started a beta testing of Bixby’s voice functionality earlier this month, and it is now so confident about the feature that it is rolling it out to all S8 owners in the US....

BlackBerry today announced its third Android smartphone, the DTEK60. Successor to the DTEK50, the DTEK60 packs significantly higher specs than it along with a price tag to match. Based on the reference design from TCL, the DTEK60 looks very similar to Alcatel’s Idol 4S. The phone features a glass design with metallic frame and a 5.5-inch Quad HD AMOLED display. Inside the DTEK60 is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 chipset, an Adreno 530 GPU, 4GB RAM, 32GB storage, and a microSD card slot....

Researchers at French mobile security firm Pradeo said the app embeds Android trojan malware known as “Facestealer” because it dupes victims into typing in their Facebook credentials to a web page that transmits the credentials to the attacker’s server, which happens to be a domain that was registered in Russia. If a user adds their credentials, the makers of the Android app then have full access to victims’ Facebook accounts, including any linked payment information, such as credit card details, as well as users’ conversations and searches, according to Pradeo....

As an Android user, one of my biggest complaint with the OS is the lack of a complete backup solution. While Google does backup Wi-Fi passwords, contacts, photos and other (very limited) system settings in certain cases, it does not offer anyway to backup the app data or app settings. Through Google Play games, Google does offer cloud backup of game data, but it is still not possible to backup app data and settings....

The Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy Note 8 are the Korean company’s flagship handset for 2017. Both feature beautiful and large OLED panels at the front that are curved at their edges. While the Infinity Display on the Note 8 and Galaxy S8 do look stunning, the curved edges and minimal bezels also mean that the display of the devices can easily shatter when dropped. The curved nature of the screen, in particular, makes it difficult to protect properly and even cases with raised lip can only do so much....

The rest of the story of KEYone, though, is quite standard as far as Android phones are concerned. The design itself is indeed, impressive featuring an aluminum unibody, and a soft textured back that should help while banging on those physical keys. In the last couple of years there has been a boom in cloud computing, but mainly just the term is new, as we’ve been using cloud services for years without even realizing it. Almost every cloud, whereas it’s Saas, PaaS or IaaS, implements some kind of API (Application Programming Interface), which can be used by developers to interact with the service programmatically. APIs can be used for a number of things, like pulling data out of the database, sending data to be stored in the database, pushing jobs to a queue, etc....
